What would prove this trade wrong

An invalidation is the condition that retires a thesis. Gambit writes it on the card next to the evidence: a price, a failed hold, a catalyst that did not print. If that condition hits, the idea is done. The point is to decide in advance what would prove you wrong, not to invent a new story after the tape moves.

Why it sits on the card

A thesis without an invalidation is a vibe. The desk initiates because something measurable happened; the invalidation is the measurable thing that would mean that read is finished. Writing it before you confirm is how you keep the human gate honest. You are not asked to trust the model. You are asked to accept or reject a claim that already names its own death.

How to use it

Read the invalidation before the evidence. If you would not flatten there, reject the card. If you would, the rest of the card is the case for taking the risk, not a reason to move the stop later. Ideas also age out — a setup can be valid this session and stale tomorrow. Refresh-due and played-out are cousins of invalidation, not substitutes for it.
