Gambit FAQ — custody, confirms, and fees

Gambit is not a custodian and not a broker. The desk prepares a ticket; you confirm. In the app that confirm is the Trade surface. An MCP connection or API key granted api:trade can propose and confirm after the client shows you the preview — treat it as a live trading credential. Without api:trade it cannot place trades. There are no guaranteed returns.

Is Gambit a trading bot?

No. A bot that places unattended orders is a different product, and that category is already full of spam. Gambit is a research desk. It initiates ideas. You stay the decision-maker.

Does the agent place trades for me?

The desk prepares a ticket with thesis, counterpoint, invalidation, and size. You confirm. In the app, confirmation happens on the Trade surface. An MCP client you signed in with OAuth, or an API key, granted api:trade can run the same propose → confirm flow after the client shows you the preview. That approval is a client-side obligation — the server cannot see you nod — so an api:trade grant or key is a live credential. Without api:trade, neither can place trades or move funds. Unattended trading is not advertised and is not part of the public product.

Does Gambit hold my keys?

No. Embedded wallets are secured by Privy in hardware enclaves. Gambit never holds the keys, and you can export yours. EMBR DEV PTE. LTD. in Singapore operates the software. It is not an exchange, broker, or custodian.

What does it cost?

Access is tiered. API access and higher-scope keys are entitlements, not a promise on every visit. Venue fees, funding, and network fees belong to Hyperliquid and the rails you choose. We do not publish win rates or guaranteed-return language. If a page claims otherwise, it is not us.

Who is it for?

Hyperliquid traders who want initiated research they can reject, and operators who want an agent to call the same desk over MCP. It is not for anyone looking for a bot that “just runs.”
